We’re back with Season Seven, Episode Twelve of the Ubuntu Podcast! Alan Pope, Mark Johnson, Tony Whitmore, and Laura Cowen are drinking tea and eating very rich chocolate cake (like this one, only more chocolatey) in Studio L.
In this week’s show:
- We discuss alternatives to Ubuntu One, which has recently shut down. Alan makes up the CRESCCO scale…
- We also discuss:
- Getting a new phone
- Getting even closer to sending Tony up a mountain in Malawi.
- Learning how ISOs are made…
- Going to Barcamp Birmingham…
- Playing with AfterShot Pro 2
- We share some Command Line Lurve from @climagic:
df -hP |column -t |tee >( head -n1 > /dev/stderr ) |grep -v Filesystem |sort -k5nr
Use it to order file-systems by percent usage and keep the header in place. Or order by file-system size with -k2n
* And we read your feedback – thanks for sending it in!

It’s bad to see Ubuntu One not receiving the amount of support it had hoped to garner. Still, you’ve suggested some good alternatives that I think I should give alteast some of them a try.
