I think they are hoping that it will stir further innovation. Who’s old enough to remember the computing mag in the newsagents called INPUT, it taught kids ( and adults) to program on your commodore 64’s, BBC and spectrum.

The PI guys have not even bothered to put it into a case, so you can even get into plastic mould injection. I think its fantastic. I’m waiting for the white heat to die down then I’m going to get a couple for my kids.
