Another great podcast, thanks. I have downloaded all the videos you took at UDS, slowly getting through those, these are well done.

Wishing you all a happy Christmas and a better New Year.

Hi, in this podcast you mentioned the options that can be found in ‘Software Sources’. Could you please explain exactly how some of this stuff works?

Specifically could you explain Main, Universe, Restricted, Multiverse and Source Code. Why would or wouldn’t you want to enable or disable these options. Are these options linked to the ‘Third Part Software’ list? Finally what is a Backport and why would I want one?

I have looked at the documentation but I still don’t understand why there are so many options.

Thanks

I have listened to several of these podcasts, all in mp3 format, usually on my phone, which is a Nokia 9500 Communicator. However, I noticed that when playing these mp3 files, I cannot pause the file during playback. If I try, I get an error message and then have to play the file from the beginning again. Is there some particular format you are using for the mp3 encoding that is not entirely the same as other mp3 files? My phone plays all other mp3 files perfectly and allows me to pause them and resume playback. It is just your podcasts that will not play properly.
BTW, I think your podcasts are great and look forward to each new one.

Hey, great show. With regards to the question about using an iPod on ubuntu, you can use Songbird 1.0 which just came out in the last couple of days and it even works with DRM'ed tracks! Keep up the good work etc.
